Here at Nancy's Gone Green! three generations of us love our new sneakers! They are embroidered on just the out facing side, where the embroidery really shows. The base shoes are basic gray canvas sneakers, made in Lima. The shoes have been hiked in and out of the mountains to get embroidered. The vibrant stitching has dense texture and color that pops against the neutral gray. They look amazing with jeans and sweats etc.

The label reads "Hand made, Fair Trade Sneakers. Throughout Peru there are fair trade cooperatives that employ indigenous women to create traditional craft items. This is often the only opportunity for them to earn money in poverty stricken rural areas. Jenny Krauss works with these groups to create product for the US and these sneakers are part of a line showcasing traditional embroidery. Your purchase helps to sustain these women, their families, and their community. Thank you!"

	Each Jenny Krauss product is an irresistible work of art with colors and textures that will delight you while helping the women who create them. Most of the artisans are women in poverty stricken rural areas with very few opportunities for employment. They usually work at home with their children playing nearby.
