Green stain fungi grow on fallen hardwoods in temperate forests around the world. The small, blue mushrooms are rarely seen, but any wood they colonize is stained beautiful shades of blue and green, once prized by Italian Renaissance craftsmen.

The artist begins his process searching for the green-stained oak in the forests around New England. The wood is then dried, carved, sanded, and sealed with at least four coats of water-based polyurethane.

Only five of this limited edition pendant are available. Each come from the same branch and closely resemble the one pictured. The pendants are approximately 1.5" in diameter and .25" thick, strung on a 19" waxed cotton cord with a lobster claw closure.
